D'oh!

Might be a reason there.

Do a search to see if any Canadian flew this mark...

The Typhoon Squadrons flew them for a short time before they got their Typhoons. Don't think any were operational.

If it is for an Ottawa based collector, I see 417 Squ. Hurricane IIc markings on it...but that is just a guess.

Hum, 417 Sqn. would make sense, Albert Houle maybe?

Or for the really obscure markings, the 143 Wing markings on it...

Will we see this flying beside SL721 perhaps at Thunder over Michigan??

or maybe Air Show Ottawa??

Great time to live in Ontario.

Cheers Dave

I hope not.......

I know the owners can do what they like with their expensive toys, but what a travesty to repaint a historic and rare aeroplane (the only airworthy MkIV) that wears its correct markings it saw service in during the war, into an inappropriate scheme. :x

OK if it was a composite with an indeterminate history, but this is one of the few UK production Hurricanes in existence that saw active front line service.
And No. 6 Sqn was historically the last front line RAF Hurricane squadron to operate the type when it gave up its MkIV’s in favour of Tempest’s in January 1947.

And according to TFC this a/c was traded with the P-47G that went to Australia, so I presume the P-47 was purchased by the Canadian owner that the Hurricane is going to..........all very confusing :? :?
