As authentically re-introduced on the P-51D "Sierra Sue II" restoration, you can clearly see in these fantastic high-res scans of the wartime photos from the American Air Museum archive, the same original mixture of silver and yellow rivet finishes:

While scanning through the pages of photos today, I ran across a survivor in today's world. This is the A-26 in Australia that Randall McFarland (a forum member) owned for awhile. She has now moved on to a new owner in Australia.

BTW...the pics with people really bring out a point in time particular aspect to the era.....

I used to only look at pics of planes without humans clutter around them.

But some of those you posted really bring out the real life situation our great warriors (for a fact all of them ) went through.

Tks again.

Michel

Be patient, it's only a matter of time. I collect them like people collect stamps.
We could chat Madras Maiden again, that would surely speed up the paperwork.

Mark,

Any idea when you will have the Coast Guard thread ready? I have some old Ten Pound Island pics of aircraft I have located...those are few and far between (rare) as that was a 1920's air station (the first one).

Mucho Gracias.....John
