Indian Me 109

Tue Oct 07, 2014 12:18 pm

I just ran across a photo that reminded me of this; about the time that Hurricane R4118 got fished out of India a few years back, wasn't an Me109E also found with it? Anyone know where it went?

I saw a photo posted by Peter Arnold on the Key forum a while back.
It showed a virtually complete aircraft (minus wings, they were being worked on off site).
The standard of restoration and authenticity looked second to none.
I've no doubt it will be seen on the air show circuit in England eventually.

Sorry I can't find the link, but, hope it helps.

Edit, I see Bryan has faster fingers, and more info!

Oops.

Sorry Peter, hope no offense was taken. Never my intention.
Thanks for clarifying.

Thomas, thank you for the links.

It seems intersting has peeked once again on this aircraft. Has anyone heard anything new? Is it being restored?

Some good detail here, along with the answer to the question, "How on earth did it get to India?":
