Looking for a good image of the squadron badge for VBF-150 from 1945 on the USS Lake Champlain? I've googled it, but have come up empty. I can only find the one picture of F4U-4 #67 in flight, but am not able to make out the squadron insignia. Can anyone help me out?

Hi Pathfinder,

Do you have any idea where that collection is/was located? I'd love to think it's over at the Washington Navy Yard - there are several insignia there that I've been trying to track down.

Cheers,

Dana

Yes I have what your looking for. I also have several additional photos of VBF-150 corsairs. I'm out of town at the moment but when I return home I'll put some stuff together for you if you're still in need.

Mark

This is the VF-150 insignia. I've never seen one for VBF-150 and they were only in existance for a short while
and on the Lake Champlain on and off for a total of around 2 weeks.

Thanks Mark & Mr. Cook!!
Interesting how the Air Group's markings are not on the underside of the aircrafts' wings!

Again,
Thanks you guys!

Hi Jollyroger--

I do not know the resource for the "box" files mentioned on that site...but I did google the name--Ryan Crierie--associated at the top of the page and came up with several hits and a probable location of Rockville, MD. The guy is apparently a history buff on several levels.

Good Luck
