Select "View and download photos" to the right of the video to see the photos, which have more detail and are easier to navigate.

Wow, they are doing a great job on that Marauder!

Only wish the plan was to restore her to flight, the original goal of that restoration project.

The one in that video is actually not Yagen's 109, but rather another Bf-109G being done for another client by MeierMotors. The one in the video is owned by Hangar 10/Air Fighter Academy, which is based in Germany (unlike Yagen's, it didn't start out as a Buchon, but rather is very much new-build using the identity of an original, which was excavated/recovered). They are the group which also owns the Bf-109G-12 conversion project at MeierMotors. They also have a Bf-109E under restoration to airworthy (very far along), which has been under restoration elsewhere (not the E-model under restoration at MeierMotors (which is owned by Robs Lamplough)).

Here's another video of the Hangar 10 Bf-109G-6 ground run today (better sound quality): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzHwCxGR_0I

...still, Yagen's Bf-109G-4 also seems to be very near completion at MeierMotors as well (its DB 605 has already been test-run here in the US).

Five DB powered 109's under rebuild?!

Now that's cool 8)

Andy, there's even more. : )

Midwest Aero Restorations has an original/very complete Bf-109G-6 (WkNr. 410077) under restoration to airworthy for Bruce Winter (owner of the P-51D "Happy Jack's Go Buggy").

The Friedkins/Comanche Fighters have an original/very complete Bf-109E-7 (WkNr. 3523) pending restoration to airworthy at Fighter Rebuilders.

Jerry Yagen has had a Bf-109E-7 (WkNr. 2023) project under restoration to fly for several years now, which I 'believe' has been in Russia.

(The Hangar 10 Bf-109E is WkNr. 1983)

And that doesn't include all of the number of Bf-109F projects, between different companies and individuals.

BTW, here are some older videos of the Hangar 10 Bf-109G-6, when being built/tested in Austria, prior to it being sent to MeierMotors for completion (to go along with the other video links in recent posts): https://www.youtube.com/user/me109at/videos

CAF Dixie Wing's P-63 - April 2015 first engine run.

Probably because they have enough on their plate at the moment, including the Buchon, which hasn't flown since the groundloop in the UK years ago and is to all intents and purposes a 109.

It's interesting how 1 or 2 flyable 109s in the 1990s have influenced the resurrection of 15-20 now.

I'm hoping it isn't too long before we see the same for the Fw190D-9. It will be great to see those flying again.

I know there are 2 or 3 projects in very slow rebuild but I hope the pace picks up and the D-9 becomes an attractive subject. Surely there are more wrecks out there to source for a project.

Before they got it, it was being restored to flight at Air Heritage along with Talichet's other aircraft we had.

I think you'll get that wish granted. Still alot of work to do fitting out and a very complex assembly.

Then there's the Martin B-26B-25-MA 41-31773.........

Will the Marauder be finished in 2015?

In less than ONE YEAR!?
Not realistic Sir.

An aviation enthusiast must find it interesting how aircraft are prioritized... why did the Smithsonian put Flak Bait on the back-burner for so many decades? Not only is the B-26 Flak Bait important as a technological marvel, it is the most significant surviving American bomber on the planet regarding it's WWII combat mission tally. Perhaps not having a red tail or a female pilot made Flak Bait so unworthy of a formal assembly for most of the aircraft's existence.

I sincerely hope there are WWII veterans still living by the time it finally comes together.
