Makes you wonder what kind of WWII-era armor or other non-aviation items may be rotting away down there as well!

Not military, but they used steam locomotives on their railroad up until a few years ago, with lots of modifications for efficiency: http://david-longman.com/Cuba.html
The truly sad thing is that a sister locomotive for a 3-foot gauge Baldwin 4-6-0 which was a dead ringer for a East Tennessee & Western North Carolina RR locomotive, existed to a few years ago and was scrapped not long ago, because westerners were giving her a lot of attention. If anyone's ever been to Tweetsie RR in Blowing Rock, NC, it would have bene a clone for their # 12 there. Such an oportunity later, now lost forever. I can help but wonder how many similar tales will come out for airplanes and military vehicles...

(44-)73978 to RCAF as 9241. To civilian registry as N89E then to Cuban air force as FAR 401. Reported in 1990 as being on display at the Museo de la Revolucion, Havana, Cuba.

Sorry 'bout that, folks! When I logged on ealier today to read the latest posts on this thread I found all of the dialogue was gone and replaced with a few random appearing letters in each post with the photos intact. It was as if all the dialogue had been cleansed....hense my remark. Then I checked another thread...same thing, I feared we had suffered some sort of calamity..appears all normal now. Did anyone else experience this or was it a glitch in my computer? Carry on...
