Good day!
...may we entertain for now,... the non-standard size & position of FAS 211 Reg/logo rather than getting off-the tangent??

Marco,
FAS-208, and FAS-213 had the alternate style "2" as well.

FAS FG-IS Folks:
Morning!
For info & data for the rest of the F4U audience,.. I'm including the picture/drawing below. The drawing indicates the Std NAVY stencil format (45 degree angle) placed in all NAVY a/c plus the FAS FG-1D that left Litchfield Pk NAS c. 1957 to S. of the border. Meaning, that all other stencil(s) format(s) were painted/made at one time locally....2 B cont...

I do not use drawings to sustain my claims, only pictures, Jose.

Ok, we have confirmed in pictures that at least 4 FAS Corsairs (205, 208, 211 and 213) did wear different style numbers in their Dark Blue delivery scheme. Rob has very elegantly shown us the details supporting why the derelict Corsair picture is in fact FAS 211. What else is left in this history?

FAS FG-1D Folks:
Good Day!
MAL: ...it's all good!! I'll let you slide for now during the Holidays!! Pictured below something similar found on www.
p.s Does this mean that FAS 205 was a dark blue scheme or a ":gull grey" type? I think we are just about to find out!! stick around.

Maybe you are about to find out, my friend. Patience, and please, do not rely on drawings (like you are doing with FAS 201), let's don't confuse people. Use real pictures, even for the campaign that you are doing in facebook. Most drawings I have seen are simply wrong.

Chance Vought F4U Corsair - El Salvador
FG-1D
Serial: FAS-201 (BuNo.67087)
Unit: Escuadrilla 2, Escuadron Caza Bombardeo, Fuerza Aerea Salvadorena
Circa 1965. Earlier in the 1960s, the FAS FG-1 Corsairs were painted in Gull Gray overall, and had the large service title applied on the sides of the rear fuselage, as well as national colours on the rudder and wingtips. This aircraft was not operational in 1969.
p.s ....also found on the www is this drawing of the poss FAS 201 ..plus some data. Few yrs ago they claimed it came fm someone at the FAS Forum. We are curious to know what sources they claim now. ..2 B cont!

Wow! I just found the source where you took FAS 205 drawing from... Listen to this " despite intensive efforts on the part of FAS technicians, the FG -1D "205" did not become operational during the 1969 war". HAAA! No wonder! FAS 205 crashed and was a total loss 8 years before the war!
And the FAS 201 drawing, wow, that is even worse! Substituting the blue-white-blue (national colors) on the cowl for a yellow band, and using "argentinean" light blue instead of salvadorean national color blue! (At least they didn't use yellow for wingtips and canopy frame, a big advance!). Will not comment about the other drawings this time).
So please, do NOT use drawings to make your point, they are not accurate.
