The Garber facility still exist but what is still stored there? Are tours available?

There are no tours there. I had a list of what was still at Garber but I have no clue where it is now. Its my understanding the collection still at Garber would take 100+ years to restore.

Off the top of my head I know there is a P-39, a P-63, an Avenger, a Mosquito, a Ta-152 and other German stuff. I wish the folks at the NASM would give serious thought to placing many of these on display at Udvar Hazy in "as is" condition.

The final 9 are; 1. Republic RC-3 Seabee 2. Saab J-29F 3. Sikorsky XR-5 4. Vertol VZ-2 5. Verville Sportsman AT 6. Vultee BT-13A 7. Waco 9 8. Waco UIC and finally 9. Yak 18! As you can see there is a lot still at Garber. What the NASM is going to do with all of this, remains to be seen one day. There is no way it will all fit into Udvar Hazy unless their plan is to add onto the building in the future.

Looks like job security for the next two generations of restorers.

60 aircraft taking an average of lets say 3 years each to restore = 180 years of restoration. thats a long time. I guess I will be watching as most of us will, from warbird heaven :D :D
