I am not talking about fire bombers, but how many C-1 Traders/S-2 Trackers are currently on the airshow circuit?

Thanks,
Nathan

There are at least two C-1s:

Trader Air, Inc.: http://traderair.com/index.html
Dan Serrato: http://www.warbirddepot.com/aircraft_tr ... errato.asp

There is also a S2F in drone markings based somewhere out west:

The S2F "Sub Standard" that is hangared at MAPS Air Museum in Akron, Ohio no longer flies. There was also a S2F called "Iron Lady" that was sold to an owner in Washington, but I don't believe that flies anymore either.

Ten years ago there was a beautiful COD in the old Wright hangar at an airport east of St. Louis {dont remember the airport name}, and it looked like you could add gas and go anywhere.

We've also got a C-1A here in Northern Calif. owned by Duane Doyle and Bill Montague in Santa Rosa, CA.

Always wish the Combat Air Museum would have kept a few of their planes flying. Their US-2 was always my favorite as a kid

No longer owned by either of them. It was donated to the local museum, Pacific Coast Air Museum. However, for some reason the registration has never been updated.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage is also restoring a Tracker to fly. Last I heard, they were shooting for a 2016 completion.

Hi Nathan,

I trust you are aware of the following excellent website: http://www.s2ftracker.com? Moreover, checking a photo database such as airliners.net can also be a great help.

As was mentioned by kalamazookid, there are (at least) two C-1 Traders on the airshow circuit: N778SR (BuAer 136778) and N189G (BuAer 146044; returned to the air in 2013 following its forced landing in 2002). I photographed both in the air in 2013.
The one bonzo referred to must be N81389 (BuAer 146049), which is owned by a company called 'Aviation Business Corporation' from St Louis, MO. Apparently it is having its interior redone, and will be followed in the restoration queue by the S-2 that is/used to be at Akron/Canton, OH.
According to s2ftracker.com and in addition to flightsimer's information, N475AM (BuAer 136781) will be kept airworthy (at least for the time being).
In addition (cf. http://www.s2ftracker.com/usatraders.htm) there are a number of airframes that are potentially airworthy or are being restored and that I hope to see return to the air at some stage.

According to http://www.s2ftracker.com/usatrackers.htm there at least five S-2 Trackers under restoration to airworthiness in the USA alone (one owned by the Collings Foundation, one owned by Tom Reilly, the aforementioned ex-Akron/Canton one, and one in Nevada and in Alabama each). I'd be as happy as you if I could get to see/photograph each one of those in the air!

Unfortunately I don't believe we'll ever get to see an E-1 Tracer fly again :-)

Roger

Hans Lauridsen has a C-1 at Buckeye airport here in AZ. It was flown in a few years ago but not sure of its current status in regards to airworthy. Nor do I know if Hans has any intention of operating it at any point in the future. (Or any of this other birds for that matter)

Thanks again for the info. Glad to hear there will be a few more making it to the air. Does anyone know which one was seen flying at the Geneseo airshows back in the late 80's? It was a S-2 tracker.

There was a E-1 for sale on ebay last year. All complete in Arizona. I wonder where that went? I wanted it...but at $75000, no way.
