I'll check with the 479th Group Historian (I'm currently flying with the 479th at Moody AFB). You may also want to get in touch with Terry Fairfield, who wrote an excellent history of the 479th Fighter Group.

I want to say it was a silver bird, with of course the green non-glare parts on the nose and the engine cowls.

What I did find was a "W" on the inside tails and some sort of 'ROUND' dark insignia on the outside tail.

Looks like Scat III written in red on the nose.

Just looking for clarification and if anyone has any photos or paint schemes for it.

I seen that one, was trying to get more detailed information on the W and the inginia on the outside tails.
