Turn it into a display piece! Restore it! Make tables out of it! Shucks, it's worth thousands just in scrap metal.

So it's at $2550.00 now - anyone have a guess as to how high the price would have to go before it wouldn't be profitable to the scrappers?

Ok, a quick search shows a Pembroke weighs about 9960 lbs empty. Figure maybe what 1000 of that being steel components...ie cranks, rods, axles, brake rotors,etc,etc.....
Current prices in rockaway New jersey.....I'm not positive, but an airplane would probably be considered sheet aluminium, which shows as .42 cents/lb.
Clean aluminium shows as .95 cents/lb.
Steel shows a between .05 and .08 cent/lb.
So, a rough guess it's worth around $3850.00......of course this is assuming that such pricing is for the plane as is, not shredded and separated....

well, off and on over the years, i have looked into getting one. They are quite rare even in English skies. i got a quote last year from the only place that i could find that would overhaul the Alivs and it was close to $50K US !, so the value is really only in the cores and props and misc parts.

Sold this evening for $5,600.00; apparently a fair amount more than scrap value. Wonder who got it?
