This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I'm about to buy a warbird item, but before I drop $450 on it, I want to check to make sure that it's legit and I'm not going to give someone some of my hard earned cash.

Jay Wisler? He's been at it forever and has the parts. Good guy I've dealt with in the past.

Jay is a member of EAA Warbirds Hall of Fame.
Bob Hoover is in that group.

Warbird parts and memorabilia is Jay's company and is in Tampa. He asked about a place called WWII Warbird parts in Tampa, maybe I'm wrong here but Jay's the only game in town in Tampa FL.
http://www.warbird-parts.com/ If however I am incorrect and this is not the company in question, then I have no idea.

Numerous people have said he is very difficult, if not impossible, to get stuff from.

I bought an engine mount from him about 6 months back - no issues, easy to deal with, just a little hard to get ahold of initially.
Like someone else said, he's been doing this forever!

He's been a great buyer and seller in the last 25 years I've been dealing with him. Great product, great service, and as a buyer he's always paid with zero hassles or issues. Can't say that about everyone in this community.
Best way to deal with Jay is pick up the phone and call him. Telephone is his favored format.

Ya...I wasn't 100% sure either so I didn't assume anything. It would have been my luck that someone like Kermit Weeks just opened up a warbird parts outlet store in the north Tampa area.
