This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Mark, I'm very sorry to see you go. You've posted some great photos and information. I've learned a lot from your posts. I'm sorry I won't have the opportunity to learn from you anymore. I wish you the best.

Not much to say that has not been said. So I will just say
Thank you!

Sorry to see you go, and sad to see all the pictures going to. I don't have as much free time as I used to, so sometimes I bookmark pages to come back to later, and a lot of those are yours. Thanks for taking the time to post and identify what you did.

Okay, okay, okay...Here's my view. I'm mostly a long-time lurker, devouring all the info this sight has to offer, as I have no relevant experience to bring to the table. However, I am a long-time aviation buff and an equally long-time warbird buff. My first book on the subject was given to me at age 6 and I read that book zillions of times just soaking up the stories and knowledge. That book: "GREAT AMERICAN FIGHTER PILOTS OF WORLD WAR II", BY Robert D. Loomis. I still have it 54 years later. It turned a little boy who was crazy about airplanes into a Warbird nut. What does this have to do with this thread? Everything. I find Mark's submissions to be on a par with that little boys book. HISTORY MADE NEW AGAIN! KNOWLEDGE! TIME TURNED BACK AND BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE. Excitement for a genre of aviation that will slip away without historians like Mark keeping it alive. Mark's photos which he selflessly spent the time and effort digging up deserve a better ending than to become a few random, scrambled electrons on the web.
I have no clue as to what the dustup was all about (can someone point me to the relevant thread/s?), but if Mark wishes to get out of Dodge, then that's his decision and right. I'll miss his submissions but clearly the existing work must be preserved. I have no clue as to the cost of maintaining a Photobucket account, but I'll be more than glad to PayPal a few bucks to assist in said maintenance. Of course a long-term solution must be worked out. Has anyone submitted such a plan yet?
Lets get this done, boys!

Ok, Mark you are a grouchy old man. Does that make you feel more comfortable?
Look folks, everyone has a bad day or a bad week. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be judged by your worst day. I know I wouldn't. I think we can all agree Mark has contributed a lot to this site as have many other whom have come on gone. If we are going to persecute everyone every time they make a mistake, act like an ass, go overboard, or get pissed off then we aren't going to have many of us left. Mark, I didn't even read the thread that spawned all of this but knowing you you were probably at least two of those things stated above

. Mark, don't let anyone make you feel like you have to leave to preserve your manhood. You over-reacted, big deal, we've all done it and felt like jerks. You won't be the last. Two weeks from now nobody will remember it or care (not even Speedy). Get over it folks, nothing to see here, let's just delete this thread and pretend it never happened.
Mark, I challenge you to do a mega-post on Army Air Corps Training bases in the United States.

I don't know why you guys keep tossing my name around in the thread. The only thing I did was point out to Mark that if he was really as upset as he claimed to have been, all he had to do was stop visiting the site/logging in/posting. I've been less than enthused with people on here before and that's the way I deal with it. I just take a vacation from WIX. Nobody seems to know or care that I'm gone as there's always twenty other guys posting stuff in my absence. That's all I was saying.

"But standing on a stump, shaking your fist, telling the world that you're leaving because you're offended screams to me just exactly what has happened in this thread:
looking for enough attention from others to talk you out of it."
OK! right ...

Just calling it as I saw it. And I can promise you that a lot of others did too. And that is exactly what has happened. The fact remains, if you were unhappy all you had to do was leave.

I can prove it that a lot more others didn't. Just calling it as I see it.

The fact remains, if you would have spent the time to read, and
comprehend the point of this F*cking thread, I wouldn't be wasting my time even responding to your BS

Thank you for reminding me, Mark, why so many others have left WIX. I was able to express my thoughts (which are just as valid as yours but without needing validation from others) without swearing or repeatedly directing a dropping trousers emoticon my direction. And now at the risk of looking petty, I will engage in my own advice.

BTW I would think you guys would be better served to ask Jack Cook

to come back.
Not only NO but h*ll NO! I'm happy where I am. Why screw that up!
