What has happened with Precision in Australia? It seems that owners are moving projects out from there to other shops.

Now this will display just how lazy I am (ask instead of google search) - can the Kingfisher be amphibious or is it a strict seaplane? it would be cool to see one operational for sure!

Not amphibious, but it can be converted to conventional landing gear.

For those who like numbers:
P-39:
- Pioneer page says this aircraft is P-39Q "Ex Soviet Airforce, recovered circa 1995 being restored to fly as USAAC 220341". Going through Goodall (
http://www.goodall.com.au/warbirds-dire ... 6/bell.pdf) this was reported at Wangaratta in 2008 and is "hulks & parts of 2 aircraft".
Kingfishers:
- Bu.No. 5985, the well-known former Whaleworld aircraft which served with the RAAF as A48-2 and looked very complete when displayed, of Jerry Yagen
- Bu.No. 5982, another former RAAF machine which served as A48-7

I missed that Zac.
I was there recently and they would not let me view the aircraft. Apparently the kingfisher and catalina are ready to be picked up and trucked to the east coast.

We've got the USS Wisconsin just over in Norfolk which used the Kingfisher extensively through the war in the AV Division, and of course OS2Us were stationed aboard most battleships and some cruisers out of NOB Norfolk as well. Additionally, we've got some folks with Kingfisher roots in our living history group. So to hear that Jerry Yagen has one under restoration to fly is extremely exciting- if I were to hazard a guess, he'll probably want to use a scheme appropriate to the Hampton Roads area, which shouldn't be hard to find.

This will be a really neat addition to the MAM when it's done!
