Tiger force refuelling Lanc's

Good detailed article from Vintage Wings in Canada of Lancasters and survivors in general.

A neat airplane.
Too bad the Brits/Canadians/Aussies didn't keep a few more.

Wonder why they weren't used in Canada as firebombers...if they're better than B-17s (as our UK friends are always telling us)? :)

For some of you South of Canada's border, or on the West side of "The Pond", I would presume most of you had never heard of "The Tiger Force"
It is what would have been if " Enola Gay" had not happened.
To the point I scanned a few pages from 1974's "Air Pictorial"
Hope I am not breaking any rules.

In Canada, are there still Lancasters that sit outside on display? I know in the last several years there have been attempts to bring them under cover.

Pat, we just have two lancs still outside.. Both on the east coast.. KB882 in Edmondston New Brunswick.. soon to move to Alberta for restoration indoors and KB839 at Greenwood Nova Scotia currently under restoration to bomber configuration.
