Not so much gag order but likely more along the lines product placement. When "The Pacific: was being filming Bruce McKenna was a member of fanboy forum (under a pseudonym of course) and as a result the information drip feed was all positive, tending towards glowing.

A few more details on the script, upcoming timeline for the start of filming and overall plan for 'Masters of the Air' at the link below based upon my conversation with author and historian Donald L. Miller--whose book is based upon for this HBO Films miniseries.
