Does anyone know what this F2G is doing at Sanders at present? Was it sold during the auction of Ron Pratte's car collection?

Sanders has installed a new engine to replace the one making metal. They are going through the airframe and correcting anything that is not up to snuff. It will be pristine when they are through with her. The aircraft is still for sale.

Sure makes me miss Odie, wonder if he was still around, would race 94 be his next project?

Has there been any talk of rebuilding Race 74 in the future?

When I was in the Marine Corps, one of our A-4 E's hit the ground at a high rate of speed and exploded. They brought the wreckage back to the hangar and laid it out to do the accident investigation. There was one very bent 20 mm cannon barrel and one main landing gear. Those were the only two items that looked recognizable and were the largest pieces, that although scorched from heat were recognizable. If you ever get a chance to see something like this, take it.
Sadly, The F2G #74, the P-51 "Galloping Ghost", Pardue's XF8F-1 prototype Bearcat, the Hughes X-1 replica with R-1535 radial engine, are gone forever or at least several decades. There aren't any donor fuselages for the F2G and XF8F laying around.

Yea you would be building a replica ... Based on one bolt you found laying in the ground.

Pardue's Bearcat, or at least the paperwork/identity, are being carried through one of the two Bearcats being restored/built for Texas Flying Legends at Ezell's.
