Thanks for posting the pics.

I noticed in the third pic, as well as some I've seen previously, that the boom and the V-stab look quite distorted and almost twisted.
Is this an illusion, or is there an explanation for this appearance?

Just wondering.

I have been following the restoration thread and have even worn out a few Black widow T-shirts.
I got my first one before they got her out of the jungle.
This restoration has been one long road and I don't doubt that the quality of work is very high. Looks amazing.

Glad to hear that what I'm seeing on the boom & stab is just a trick of the light.
I guess that polished aluminum acts kind of like a funhouse mirror.
It doesn't take much distortion to bend the light quite a bit.

Exactly, just alot of reflection and a curvy surface. I've seen it in person several times and it looks great.
