Jay Dee Mustang, MkXVI Spitfire, F4U, TBM, P-40M, P-38.

Not sure CF needs a P-51 that needs a whole lot of TLC. The TBM is long gone,
they have a P-40K and I'd guess the FG-1D, B-17, ME-109, P-38, Spit & Zero...?

They have been after an FG-1D for a while, so I'd say that one was a given

But assuming this deal does indeed go thru just for fun what aircraft would Collings perhaps want to get for their substantial financial committment? I will start I would hope that the P-38 that I saw there in 2013 might finally come out of a 25 year self imposed retirement. I think it flew in there around 1990 or so and has not flown since.
I do know that a P-38 has been on Collings wish list for quite some time. Anybody else care to speculate as that is what this is speculation just for fun or course. I read somewhere that this potential deal would allow Collings to come out of this with 6 aircraft.

The deal was signed on June 25th, so it is all done and final. Collings Foundation is not the only principal on agreement, and the agreement is not an aircraft only deal. There will be some aircraft that eventually leave the museum, but not all at once. Some of them will be taken apart and shipped out, and some of them will be returned to flight status on site, and towed to the airport across the street for their departure. Some of that work will start in the next couple of months for those of you that are local.

As for the list of specific aircraft, I will let you keep speculating. Some of you are pretty close, but some of you are mentioning aircraft not owned by Evergreen Vintage Aircraft. There are several entities that own aircraft that make up the museum. There was only one involved in the settlement.

The number is not 6.

There was more than just The Collings Foundation involved in the settlement, so do not expect any type of major announcement spelling out the details beyond what the court released already. Registration paperwork has already been submitted to the FAA for the change of ownership, so whenever they are processed in OKC (already have if you have checked the link above), the changes will appear in the database. People who visit the museum will start to see aircraft being prepped for flight/shipment, so that will also be a clear indication which ones are leaving.

There are no plans in there being any Collings Foundation base on the West coast. All aircraft that are part of the settlement will be moved to the East coast to the new owners.

A bunch of Cold War Era Jets and a few civilian aircraft

Well, there is more to aviation than warbirds. Besides, I have hunch it's the Hughes that brings in the general public.
Hopefully, it will do well.

It wasn't commercially viable before without Evergreen cross-subsidising it from its various companies, what makes you think it will be now?

The other party to the deal, George Schott, has snagged the Bf 109, Spitfire, Stearman and P-38, now being registered to his company Affordable Midcoast Housing LLC in Maine

The 109 was rebuilt by Daryl Skurich I believe. An ex Doug Arnold machine recovered from Yugoslavia.
Do any of you folks know if the engine was ever run and or who rebuilt it?
Nice to hear of these machines maybe coming to live in the East.

Thanks for any input.
