After the terrible incident in Britain, I would not be surprised to see that entire road posted and enforced "no stopping or standing" for the whole weekend. It will happen in the name of public safety.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

Last year we had north winds for arrival day Friday with 5R closed so we sat in the field north of the old Zantop hangars on the perimeter road. We didn't get kicked out of there for the T-birds practice and we got buzzed several times. Ecorse always gets closed during Blues practice usually between 1-4pm. The years of T-birds or Blues they close the section that X Ray mentions. Tom has a good point about all of Ecorse being closed for safety. You can guarantee between Beck and Tyler being closed, after that it doesn't matter to me because even with my 500mm pictures suck outside that area with all the trees there. Last year I went to the show inside the grounds on Sunday but from SAturday watched from outside. I watched from north of the old Zantop hangars on the west side since arrivals were all on 5L

This year I think I will go inside the show on Saturday since that has a better weather forecast. I will watch from outside on Sunday for a different perspective to get some departure shots from Zantop hangars since SW winds are forecasted all 3 days. Friday I will be on Ecorsse until we get the boot and when they open it back up during Blues.

I would be surprised. Accidents like that are exactly why they close the portions of the roads they do, I don't see them extending those closures due to something that happened far outside of FAA jurisdiction.

All,

Police will be chasing people away down Ecorse all day. I would not stop unless you want to talk to the police.

I just worry that I'll get yelled at across the ramp again for my beard trying to get in BK's pictures.

Local guys are saying 40% chance of scattered t-storms late on Saturday. 10% chance on Sunday. The forecast does differ from the national sites. A local station is WDIV. You can google that for some local weather reporting. Fingers crossed we'll need to wear sun screen...

Michigan weather is unpredictable. I am sitting in my mom's back porch this morning sunny not a cloud in the sky. I look up from my computer and it was completely overcast 10 min later. It has been overcast since I have come up from Florida. Tomorrow is the only forecasted dry day according to Wunderground and it shows clouds moving in later in the day. Saturday is showing overcast but with no rain until 6pm. Sunday they are showing 60% chance of T-storms, but Wunderground changes every 2 hours... next forecast will show all sun

Commemorative always comes a day or two earlier than arrivals day. They might give rides on Friday, or they have gone up in the past.
