Does anyone know if there is going to be any of the awesome F-14 demo's this year? Being the last year I would think they would send out a team.

The word is that the last flyable Tomcats will be going to museums as static display aircraft by May of this year.

The patch worn by the demo crews at Oceana last year were a take off of the famous " Any Time Baby " patch.

It read " Last Time Baby".

Eric, Trey asked if the Navy would be sending out a team. I took that to mean would it be included with the other TAC Demos available to airshows across the country.

From the Navy event site, the only fighter TAC Demos available will be Hornets; regular and super.

The new Navy; one size fits all. When the EA-6 and S-3 are gone it will really be boring.

From what I've heard, the possible Cat Flight at Oceana will be the only Tomcat display this year. Hopefully they won't all be grounded by May, the Duluth airshow is scheduled to have one on static display in July. I sure am glad I caught the Tomcat demo back in 2004!

I got the May date from Navy sources that should know. We'll see, there's probably some flexibility in the time.

I don't see how it can be May...VF-31 isn't supposed to retire their 'Cats until September the last I knew.

And I believe the dates that Roger posted were last flights, i.e. to museums, not tactical demos.

Well, so much for the F-14 on static display at the Duluth airshow, it has dropped off the list and been replaced by the super bug.
