I just read that the B-25D “Grumpy” in Duxford is coming to N. America? Does anyone know if this is true and can they share any details on Who, Where and When this is / has happened?

Or was it Gramps anyway there isn't that Many D's flying :?

Thanks. I'm glad I got some pictures of it when I was in England if the rumors are true.

Hi -The aircraft left Duxford after Flying Legends for a tempory stay at North Weald. I have heard it may carry out some display work if it is asked for. When it will leave for the US I have not heard.
All the best Neil

Owner/Operator listed as 'Vulcan Warbirds' in Legends programme, if that throws any light!

Apologies, should have read Pat's link before posting, where all is revealed. Fingers before brain! :?

Did 'Grumpy' serve any combat time with the RCAF during the war? I take it Mr. Allen is keeping with the "combat veteran" theme of his collection by acquiring a B-25 with some notable battle history.

The B-25C in storage with Aero Trader would really have been a noteworthty acquisition, although I'm not sure if they have any official record of its war time history.

If any one can find out the when and where that Grumpy is coming across, I would be most interested. I was able to catch the Fighter Factory's PBY last year when it stopped in good old Bangor, Maine to clear customs. I got an awsome tour inside and out and pics, too! The chance to catch a B-25 would also be AWSOME!
