About 25 years ago I lived in Maine and travelled around a fair bit. I remember coming across what I think was an F-89 Scorpion in a gated compound near an airport. The compound belonged to a Boy Scout troop. I think the airport was in Waterville, Maine. If I took photos they are buried in the attic. There doesn't appear to be a preserved F-89 in Maine today so presumably it was moved. The aircraft was definitely a straight wing jet. I suppose it could have been a T-33 or an F-94 but the F-89 was operated by the Maine ANG until 1969. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?

It was moved in 1990 to Bangor International Airport / Bangor Air National Guard Base (former Dow AFB), Maine.

If you look at the Maine ANG facility at the Bangor airport on Google Earth, you can see it. Across the street is an F-101 Voodoo.
