Couldn't find out why it's referred to as 'Clobbered Turkey', when the photo on the Parks Service website and the blog show a B-29 named 'Forlorn Turkey'? The name change is mentioned in the text of the blog but I wonder if that came from a typo somewhere?

Maybe the author was making a reference to the possible "fact"? the Turkey got clobbered?

From the first link, first line under the photo -

The plane shown, named Clobbered Turkey, is a Boeing F-13 photo reconnaissance variant of the B-29 (serial 45-21775; earlier in its life it apparently was also known as the Forlorn Turkey...

I think the statement is pretty clear that it was "Clobbered Turkey" at the time of the accident and no information has been found as to when or why the name change happened.

I wonder if the airplane was "Forlorn Turkey", but the story tellers "cleverly" referred to it as the "Clobbered Turkey" after it went down.

That was my train of thought.
