The "Droop Snoots" were so good at what they did the Germans copied the idea.

Me 262 A-2a-U2-Weimar Germany 12 May 45 being inspected by US troops, it had made a belly landing on March 30, 1945. The prototype first flew in February 1945 and by the end of March had completed 16 test sorties.
