Gotta love living under the local traffic pattern.

Can anyone confirm if the Collings Foundation is scheduled to be in Shreveport, Louisiana today, or might they just be dropping in to refuel on their way to other locales? Too bad the car's in the shop, otherwise I'd be down at the airport already.

I think they were in Shreveport for 3 days and left for Houston today.

Dagnabbit! I swear it was on approach. Must have been doing a final fly-by before heading on. I just happen to be on my way to Houston during the next couple of days so maybe I'll just catch it there.
I wish there was a better way of knowing when tours like this were in town. The airport is just a stone's throw a way from here and I had no idea.

Links to the schedules of the six B-17s that tour or have toured are at the top of my B-17 News page at

Same thing happened to me last Fall. Big thrill! I'm near the regional airport in Manassas.
Was shaving upstairs when I heard something "funny". Saw it coming towards my house through the window and ran out into the backyard half-dressed with shaving cream all over my face. Wife now convinced I'm crazy.
Good thing I wasn't out driving or I'd probably wrap it around a telephone pole!

Rob ~ we list all the WW2 bombers ( B-17 / B-24 / B-25 / B-29 / Lancaster ) that are currently offering rides on our web site ~
http://www.bomberflight.info/ride_infor ... mation.htm
There are seperate links to their respective home page and tour scedules.
We do compile a collated list of tour dates when planning our own vacation trips ~ but I would be very wary to putting it into a public domain since there is no way of verifying that airplanes will actually be where their web site(s) say they will be ~ or that the sites are up to date !
In an ideal world ~ we would produce a map of the USA which shows all the bombers offering rides for this coming week with pointers to where they are heading next week and the week after that ~ then everyone could see what was heading "their way" in the near future !
