505th FS, 339th FG P-51 identification

Hello everyone,

I found a few interesting shots of a P-51B/C that a few pilots used as a back drop for posing in front of for the 505th FS, 339th FG. The best part about this P-51 is it has Shark teeth behind the standard checkers. Can anyone tell me any more information on this P-51?

Hello everyone,

I forgot to mention earlier that I got these three shot from the little friends website under the 339th FG section. I could swear I remember seeing a fourth shot somewhere that showed the oil overflow pipe on the left side of the cowl and that's how it was determined that it was a P-51B/C model not a D model. I can't find that shot for the life of me now, so I'm trying to find someone who may know a little about this bird.

Thanks,
Brady
