This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I have forgotton how long ago it was but a guy by the name of Dave McDonald introduced me to the Warbirds Worldwide forum, and what a fantastic forum it was. When WW closed down the lost souls migrated to the Vintage Aviator forum, which was unfortunately short lived. It was then that Scott threw us a life line and we came aboard onto the great ship WIX. We have been picking passengers ever since.

Thanks Scott.

So your wife blames me for you spending too much time in front of the puter I guess....in my defence you wern't married at the time 8) . Seriously though, it is a great place and friends made are long term as is the case with Mike and I, and many others for that matter.
Kudos to Scott for picking up the ball and running with it....long live the WIX!

Dave
p.s. Scott I notice the old message board has been spammed quite badly...has it been saved previously? and will there come a time the archives can be accessed direct from this forum??

I was surfing the web trying to find out how many existing Hellcats there were, and came across the Warbird Registry. Then on to the WIX Hanger.

Just curious... how did you find the WIX?

It was very nice, thank you for asking!

Hey, it's still April 1st for 6 more minutes. Seriously, I found it while surfing for info on Brewster aircraft, specifically Earl Reinert's Buffalo.

The good Colonel found me wandering around the Flypast board all lost and alone. He took me by the hand and lead me here to the land of milk and honey.

Oh, wait a minute. Perhaps I should rephrase that so as not to break with any long held traditions.

It was all Rob's fault. That slime grabbed me up and dragged me all the way here and I've been here ever since.

Surfing the web for Warbird restorations. Lurked for quite a while before I got my feet wet. The Warbird stuff was interesting, since I live in Northern Japan & to say there isn't much Warbird activity out here would be an overstatement. At least I was/am able to get a Warbird fix. But more than that, the biggest draw for me at first might have been reading/deciphering RER's postings, followed a close second by HarvardIV's (RIP) rantings.

Thanks Scott, I appreciate all of the effort you put into this.

I forget exactly, it was so long ago. One of the first things I searched for when I got onto the net was 'warbirds'. Came across the registry and then the rest of WRG, including the forum. I think there was a previous incarnation of WIX, yes... no?

Anyhoo, I lurked for a very long time before posting.

I too took the Warbirds Worldwide > Vintage Aviation Forum > Vintage Aviation Forum Refugees > Wardbird Information Exchange route!

Not posting as much as I did in the early days, the forum has got a more "professional touch" ... ... nowadays.
