I didn't realize it's top turret is missing.

Back at the time when the "Movie Memphis Belle" was loaned out to the Liberty Foundation, it was reported/mentioned here that the full upper turret unit (w/pedestal), that the aircraft had been fitted with for years, was removed, and another turret (said to have been recovered from one of the two Greenland B-17E's), featuring just the upper portion (without the pedestal) was installed, so that there would be more room to seat paying passengers. It can therefore be deduced that, now that its time with the Liberty Foundation is over, that the borrowed turret was removed and provided back to its respective owner (the Liberty Foundation? (which has two B-17 restorations taking place)), and now that the aircraft is back at Geneseo it will be refitted with the full turret that it had been fitted with prior to being loaned to the Liberty Foundation (as it has been recently stated that it won't be "turret-less" for much longer).

Thanks for the info.
I was lucky enough to get to use the top turret under it's own power. Lovely!
Is Joe Krzeminski still involved with her?
