OK - there is an Air Race show Sunday on "NBC Sports". Doesn't show up in my Dish guide but an Internet search says it's channel 159. Don't get that one. Apple TV has an icon for NBC Sports but the coming events don't show anything even remotely close to Reno. Anyone know where else to find it? Or can you post a link?

For what it was, I thought it was a good show. There is way too much racing at Reno to fit it all into a one hour space. The producers were forced to take the highlights of the main show attractions, the Unlimited Gold, Jet Gold and Sport Gold races. They were the fastest ones, and that was all the time they had at this point. Had they tried to include the rest of the classes and fields, we would have had show that looked like the very end when they showed the T6 and Biplane class. There was good racing in every group from every class last year, they all deserved to be on the show, but there simply wasn't enough space in the time slot.
Another thing to think about is that NBC wasn't trying to cater to us, but to the general public who have never gone. They wanted the stars of the show with more of a shock and awe performance to catch the eye of the casual watcher flipping through channels.
Rather than be harsh on NBC for not covering everything, lets be positive and hopefully they will be more willing to expand the coverage. Its been a long time since ABC's Wide World of Sports covered the races, this is a step in the right direction. Yes, lots of changes should be made, but for a 1 hr spot, with a sport that many people don't understand, or know about, it was a good introduction to the things that are so great about the sport.
