C-119 up for GSA auction again

Sun Apr 10, 2016 12:32 pm

Hi all,
It appears that the C-119 is up for auction again, perhaps the first winner wanted to fly it out and didn't hear about the spar crack. Really hope someone closer can save her ( I'm on the east coast ) even if it is just to use as parts for another restoration ( better than scrapping ). What ever happened with the C-123 ?

If I was insanely crazy I'd buy it, truck it home to CT, and use it to park my jeep in!

C-123 update, it was sold to a couple of guys who plan on turning it into a coffee shop near Palmdale. The aircraft was still located at Edwards as of 2 weeks ago.

We had been bidding on the C-123 for all the components to keep our plane flying for many years to come, but obviously did not win it.

Tyler, maybe we can get you in contact with the guys who won the bid to get all the stuff they don't need for the coffee shop. PM me or contact the director of the flight test Museum

Sold yesterday for $8300 (which was $2100 less than what it "sold" for last time - and according to the fine print, the previous high bidder will get a $350 penalty for not completing the purchase).

Anyone know who got it this time?
