German Museums

Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:27 pm

Going to Germay later this year and planning on visiting a few museums

They include:
Gatow
Dessau
Wernigerode
Buckeburg

Can anyone provide a recent full(ish) list of aircraft at those museums and any others in area please or point me to a place that has them?

TIA

Hi Chris,

I don't have these lists, but if you could share what you come up with that would be great. (Here I am asking for your help again)

I almost went to Germany earlier this year, and there is another possibility in June, so I too would like to know where everything is as well.

Does anyone know if you tend to find pole mounted warbirds in Germany like you would in Canada and the US?

EVERYWHERE, If I remember rightly somewhere (I can find it if you like) there is a MiG-21 on a pole outside a garden centre :D

My list is in an Excel file, I can e-mail it to you and anyone else if you wish

If you get the chance, both Speyer and Sinsheim are well worth a visit.

Sorry if I missed it, but can you provide a location for this, and how easy is it to see (I won't have much time)????

I went to Frankfurt on company business late last year. I had full intentions of getting over to Munich and visiting Flugwerk. However, Claus was on a trip and this side trip was scrubbed. I ended with a group of co-workers on a weekend trip to Marburg saw lots of castles and while not airplanes it was still pretty interesting. I will end up going back on my on nickel to see the 190's. Nurnberg and municiple building (party headquarters) was interesting to say the least. Lots of history, you'll be plenty busy with sightseeing.

Thanks Warren.

I would like to add that I am only going for 3 days and am only going to be in the North of Germany Hannover / Berlin corridor.
