Ephrata Revisited (Always Content)

Fri Jun 03, 2016 10:36 pm

Wife and I just got back from a trip to Yellowstone. On the way back we stopped at Ephrata Airport. These shots were from my phone, I haven't had a chance to download the Nikon pictures yet. Pretty cool to trace the footsteps of the film. Alot has changed, but not alot has changed, if that makes sense. The hangars have received some much needed attention but it did alter the looks of the buildings. More to come...

Great shots.I love "then and now" stuff!
The Vultee sure looks at home.

The shot of the C-119 dropping retardant is one of my favorite shots in the film...it's out doing routine training and it goes unnoticed by most, but Pete stops to watch it.

Awesome photo essay. Thanks Jim! Kind of nice to see the PBY still there too, though it looks a little forlorn. Any idea what the story is with it?
