JU-87 Restorations?

Well since Im on a kick on German Aircraft here is another one for the WIX Group. I was at Harlingen TX. back in October 1979 for the CAF Airshow. I remember seeing the JU-87 fly at that time. I think it was the same aircraft that crashed up around Montana. Ran out of fuel if I remember correctly.
I don't know of a single example that can be flown today. Does the Cavanugh Museum have one in TX? Are there any being restored to airworthy anywhere in the world today? Im a lover of all types of warbirds so Im once again curious about this aircraft. Thanks in advance.

Ed, you may be thinking of the Heinkel He111 (or its Spanish-built, Merlin-powered CASA 2.111) version - if so, the CAF had one they lost in a crash in Wyoming and 2003 and Cavanaugh had one. None known to be flying anywhere right now although Paul Allen/FHC have one under way or in the queue.

I doubt any Ju-87 has flown since 1945 but I stand to be corrected. I also don't think any are under restoration to fly, simply because (despite tens of thousands being built), so few survive.

I don't believe that the original poster of this thread, Ed, is referring to the Ju-87 though - after all, he already started another thread about Stuka restorations. As KiwiZac mentioned, I think Ed meant to refer to He-111's in this thread, but typed-out the wrong thing.

Regarding He-111's (or the Spanish-built examples), none are currently flying (since the crash of the CAF example), and probably our greatest bet of seeing one fly again will be through FHC (at some point in the future) - it doesn't seem as though Cavanaugh have any interesting in flying theirs again. As I recall, FHC own two separate Spanish-built He-111's, and the plan that was announced some years back was to restore/rebuild one to flying condition with original German engines/cowls. Of course if FHC's/Paul Allen's dreams come true, we should see a flying Ju-88 and Betty some years from now as well.

Yes my bad you guys caught me red handed hit the wrong key. I was referring to the JU-88 so it sounds like that once again FHC is the key player. To bad that Cavanaugh doesn't get theirs airworthy. I think Chuck Gardner flys for them if he sees this post maybe he can shed some light as why Cavanugh doesn't fly theirs as well as their F9f Panther Jet that last I knew they still own. Chuck you out there somewhere?

To be clear, the photos are of a He.111/CASA 2.111, which is what FHC and Cavanaugh have and CAF had. Not the Ju.88. Different aircraft again.
