I would say you and me both, but that'd also apply to almost any commercial artist that ever lived. Yeah, I fell for that when I was in my teens, a few times, but I wised up real fast, (as I bet, you did, too).Warbird Kid wrote:p51 wrote:people just don't want to pay you to do it.
I know that story all too well. "I won't pay you, but it would be great exposure for you!" I can't tell you how many times I've been hit with that one.

Generally speaking, people value a finished product, but rarely ever the process to create it. In other words, nobody ever wants to pay for something like this. It's one of the reasons I gave up being a professional graphic artist many years ago because the inevitable conclusion hit me that for the most part, people just don't want to pay you to do it.

The sad fact is you wouldn't even have to pay me a lot. But I still would want my time reimbursed.

I'm not busting your chops, I'm just genuinely confused.

Ah, okay, that makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. Just be prepared for a real commercial artist to go another direction. Generally speaking, a commercial artist doesn't get much out of simply rendering every line and curve you have in your head. You might be better off just hiring a computer person to render whatever sketch you have, as it might be cheaper for you that way.Nathan wrote:I have the idea for it. I wrote out myself. just looking for someone that's a better artist then me
