Interesting article about then Major Kettles and the 3 trip rescue mission he flew in May of 1967. He had one UH-1 shot up so bad, he had to grab another to complete getting all 40 soldiers from being overrun in a landing zone.

Wow. I read about the action and it sure seems like a MoH is in order. It reads very similar to the actions of CWO Michael J. Novosel that earned him the same medal. I'm just glad that LTC Kettles is still alive to be awarded this in person.
