The last time I was in the area some three years ago, there was a C-45 on the West side of the Sarasota-Bradenton airport; in USAAF military markings.

More important, there are people still working at that airfield, who worked for Cavalier Aircraft, and you could go and ask questions and get very interesting stories from them.

Good luck!

There are 2 Mig 23s parked on the ramp at Dolphin Aviation, and the previously mentioned C-45. On the east side, near the tower in a T hanger is the Lindsey Cavalier Mustang. Occasionally have seen other stuff on the ramp at Dolphin as well.

If you look at the C-45 against the fence, scan to west and they are parked side by side on the north end of the last row of hangars. They looked to be in fair condition.

Looking at the Sarasota-Bradenton Airport on Google Maps, the photo shows what appears to be a B-24 on the ramp just NW of the approach end of Rwy 22. Is this actually one, or are my eyes deceiving me? I have no idea when this photo was taken.

That would be the Collings Foundation's B-24 on the Florida leg of the tour back when it was painted as "The Dragon And His Tail"

Good information on Sarasota activities. Using Google Earth if you head south to Shell Creek (just NE of Punta Gorda) you will note 3 DC3 and a C45.
