I suspect they may have been given a time window to fly in and the bomb door issue cost them about a half hour.

I could picture Flying Heritage eventually restoring one. (Do they have one in storage?) Or Kermit Weeks finishing his.

No vintage plane deserves to remain a wreck anymore, even if it never flies.

We had some engine indication problems that we're 99% sure are false, so B29driver decided to land after discussing the problem with the crew. Just getting the first flight accomplished is a big step.
