I thought this was an interesting concept. Doubtful one ever went further than this mockup though. Interesting idea that most likely wasn't needed.

The top aircraft will have an awfully high wing loading.
But, you'll be able to fit a bunch of them on a carrier.

I love that Hawk! Modelers, note the zinc chromate overspray pattern around the baggage door - looks like they flipped open the lid, stuck the gun in and sprayed.
Don't bother looking around Iran for one - the RAF captured all ten while still crated and used them in India; per Wiki so please feel free to correct me.

Didn't need the gunner? Note it does have a window back there though. If it was single-place, I wonder why?
