Really, I'd pay a lot to do coast to coast on a AA sleeper...or any DC-3.

Count me in too. When i was a CAP cadet in about 1970 or so, Got a ride in a WIANG C-97 at MKE. The Guard had a C-97 fitted with seats, (Rear facing if memory serves). Might have been some sort of a hack/ transport. I remember getting getting yelled at when i got home because i walked under the engines as they dripped oil. I wondered why the mechanics were laughing. Mom didn't think it was funny that my uniform shirt was ruined.
What a day! we got to climb all over the KC-97's, received "mission" briefings, even got to fly the simulator. non motion but everything lit up there was engine and wind noise, still remember that.
