Some cool footage of the 3-ship formation with the Mustang and Sea Furies on tonight's "Prime Time" interview.

Not much other warbird content, though.

Nope, not Hanks - but very good guess. No more hints.

Just saw the PrimeTime interview. Not near enough P-51 stuff, but actually more than I thought. Total of, what, 2-3 minutes interspersed throughout the program? Some air to air, landing, and taxi shots. Cruise took Diane Sawyer for a 1-hr ride. He rolled it a few times. Some in-cockpit and tail mounted cameras. Clean bird.

Pretty good interview. Says he got ~$75 million for MI2. Probably much more coming for MI3 with a world-wide premier. That ought to keep Kiss Me Kate in gas for a while!

I'm glad to see a few in Hollywood putting that money to good use. Mind you I can't throw stones about haw anyone spends money but keeping a P-51 or any warbird alive gets credit in my book.

I wish I had the money and talent to keep a warbird alive. Maybe in my next life. Can I pick now?

Maybe the Mustang is only the start of his collection.
Anyone who keeps them in the air can't be all bad.
He has the means to collect a few more toys.

Peter Jackson - he's crazy about warbirds, especially WWI stuff.

He is also pictured in an ad for the Collings B-17/B-24 Tour.

Hmm I guess it might have been Forrest Gump in the ad... :shock

AFAIK it is his. He was the owner of this P-51 http://www.warbirdregistry.org/p51regis ... 12840.html
I don't know if he changed P-51's but for now I'm assuming that this one was the former Montana Miss.

Anybody know for certain?

Yes Scott, this is the former "Montana Miss". It now has "Kiss Me Kate" on the nose.

Dennis

Well, flipping through one of my magazines by chance, I saw a painting pictured that was credited to his collection - so I was wrong that he wished to remain totally anonymous ...

Pee-tah Jackson!

Whew! Now I can get back to my own artwork ... the pencil sketch for Dawn of the Dragons is coming along nicely [459th FS P-38Js]. Will post here soon.

Cheers - and go out a buy KONG on DVD today, won't ya?! Aviation art collectors are a special breed of folk who deserve our support ... :D

On "Primetime" they said the Mustang was painted in Tuskeegee airmen colors...was it?
Were the codes accurate (WG- R" or something...)?

I don't know my P-51 combat unit markings ...but to me it looked more generic than the all-red tail we associate with the Tuskeegee unit.

OK OK OK - the big question is how much does Tom charge to do fly-by or static air show appearences :?: I am assuming he is not acro carded in the mustang yet. . . ?
