This is something that you don't see every day. I ran across this mockup of a proposed 3 or 4 seat version of the T-2 in about 1983 while flying explosives around the country for Express Airways in Twin Beeches. Unfortunately, I don't remember where this mockup was located. I stopped at numerous naval air stations in that time frame, along with air force bases and civilian airports. It's possible that I made a stop at Port Columbus, Ohio where the North American manufacturing facility was located, but I really don't remember. I read something about this proposed 3 or 4 seat Buckeye, but I'm currently in Florida and 3000 miles away from most of my reference material. I tried a quick online search, but there was no mention of this version. If anyone has more information to refresh my memory, I'd be glad to hear it.

The four seat Buckeye reminds me of the Douglas plan to modify Skyknights to four seat bizjets, or the broadly similar Cessna T-37- based civil jet.

Slightly off the topic...Anyone know if any single engine T-2As survive?

Planes of Fame has one, but the center section spars are cut as I recall.
