Haven't all the best preserved recoveries from the Great Lakes already been brought up? I have heard that in some areas the wrecks are beyond recovery either crushed by ice in the winters or reduced to sludge by pollution effluent.

Are there any other Great Lakes recoveries other than the ones from the Wolverine and Sable?

Of course there are other aircraft in the lakes, but:
-their locations are unknown
-they probably got there as a result of high speed impacts, hardly recoverable or restorable wrecks.

Besides, the USN has first dibs on those aircraft. The Lake Michigan planes have done wonders for the world's population of static examples of certain types, fliers, not so much.

Sable and Wolverine came up in a thread back in November again. Tom Walsh has compiled a list of birds in the waters and only 1 Corsair was listed. The bulk was Avengers in the 30's, Wildcats in the 30's, Dauntless' in the 30's, SNJ's in the teens, and a small smattering of other types. As JohnB mentioned, there maybe more Corsairs from other duties. Of the Sable and Wolverine bulk numbers, they've yet to be found.
