Just checked GovDeals and found this; came out of a tech school:

Auction ends Feb. 5th at 5:15 PM Eastern; high bid is $541.16. Anyone for a WIX project?

I went to Atlanta Area Tech back when it was one of the top rated A & P schools in the country. We had a bunch of those Twin Beech aircraft that we worked on & ran up regularly. It is a crying shame that school went to crap, & those airplanes have just sit.

Totally agree, Robbie. I was there from January, 1977 through September, 1978. Got my A&P and launched a 33 year Delta career. I've probably "touched" that plane. A real shame...........

They took the engines, cowls, and props. Making this an even more upside down project.
Just darn.

Without engines, props and cowls, it would cost more to move it than its worth. I think this one falls under the heading, "You can't save 'em all".

Yup, I said the same thing about an awful, corroded, stripped PBY once....and Gary went and got it and hauled the thing up to his place....And then, didn't the dang thing end up in Australia?

The only parts that went to Australia were the nose turret and the waist blisters.

I am happy to help anyone that might want to save this Beech. The firewall forward parts are not hard to find at all. Yes it is a big project but not that different from what was there before the engine removal and it's free.
You could remove the wings, put the tail in the back of a pickup truck and tow it on its main gear (17 feet wide) to a place nearby so you can buy more time to get it home.
Ill share my experience and give advice as needed to help out. What a shame to see it get cut up. Even a kids playground would be better than the scrapper.

Any of you Atlanta guys up for it? I don't need it or have a place to put it, but would be glad to provide weekend disassembly help.

Sounds like it's being saved as we speak.
