Anyone know what Carl Scholl is asking for a new one these days?

If you go to his website the NMUSAF photos he has of a B-24 top turret shows a different type of dome.
So is it really from a B-24...or, I suspect, did they had different domes?

It's not a Martin dome for the B-24. Its a Crocker Wheeler dome for the A-8 training turret used in the Beech AT-11 or the Fairchild AT-21.

The seller is located only about 10 minutes away from me. Unfortunately they don't do store front hours.

At that price...not a smokin chance. I know of a complete and functioning A-8 for about twice that price and it has a good dome.

It is a pretty steep price. I have raw A-8 new production domes available for sale or trade if anyone wants a cheaper alternative.

IMA is notorious for their high prices and questionable descriptions. Some of their reproduction stuff is quite good and reasonably priced, but their 'historical' lots are aimed at deep pockets and shallow knowledge

That would account for the period photos he linked to looking nothing like the item being offered. :)
