Used for flying qualities, stability and control, and performance evaluations. Used as test bed for supersonic research and to train pilots for the X-20 Dyna-Soar program. WFU 1970. In Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the hometown of Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon. Armstrong flew the aircraft.

I've heard that in the 80s it was rescued by either the March or Castle museum.
The local community college aviation school stripped it out and had the engine for a long time (along with a T-33 and a couple of H-23s)...but it's now gone.
