Breaking news or the rumor mill at work? You be the judge.

A post on the MustangsMustangs board says that the CAF P-82 is to be moved to a "well known" restorer in California under the sponsorship of...drum roll please...one Mr. Tom Cruise! Today is not April 1st so...

Like I said before if you want to know whats going on in the CAF read it in the press (foreign most of the time) . Members never hear anything from Midland unless they are begging for money.

To quote some one a long time ago "I am serious and don't call me Suri"Sorry, poor humour I know but at least if the rumour is true maybe the ownership issue will finally be done with and the aircraft will end up back in the air where it belongs.Cheers,Pete

If it's true that Tom Cruise is involved financially in the restoration process I think the ownership issue would be settled quickly. I can't believe the USAF would want any bad publicity that a fight over ownership on a project funded by such a public personality could garner.

P-82

Tom's involvement with the P-82 has been somewhat public knowlege since Feb, and to some, even before that time frame........ Rob, the face to face meeting you described, already happened. All I can say. Alan

p-82

Ok, Let me get this right. The P-82 is being sponsored by TC, not sold to TC. Then is it like anyone else sponsoring a CAF airplane. It is still in the CAF and being payed for by a sponsor, not "sold" to a sponsor.

The USAF can't keep them form flying the plane, just selling it?

Last I heard Terry Bland was still the owner of Dago and it was going to be leased to Dan Martin for this year's race at Reno.

Twin Must sees

Thu Apr 27, 2006 11:45 am

It will be an absolute MUST SEE when the two -82's appear at the same show. That is looking more and more likely one day not that far off.

Add a Mosquito or two, a couple of Tigercats and ...

LOL, now that has to be one of the most on-target things you've ever posted Colonel! The CAF would be wise to not associate themselves with Tom Cruise or any other of the folks in his "religion". DEM KOOKS IS NUTTY!!!!!
