Registry overhaul - What's next?

Mon Jun 05, 2017 5:44 am

The registry code upgrade is ongoing and as part of that up grade I am trying to process the updates that I have for individual aircraft. Since it has been awhile since it was updated, and is by far the most popular registry, the P-51 Mustang Registry is in the upgrade hanger. So now is the time to submit information and/or images if you haven't already done so. You can put information in this thread or send it via e-mail to:

With somewhere near a quarter of a million files to maintain across the entire site updates take time. I appreciate you're continued patience and thank you for all the help (you know who you are). I appreciate it,

P.S. B-17 Flying Fortress registry is up next (I'm looking at you Pat :D )

I would like to make two suggestions. 1) Registry for the Grumman J2F Duck. and a registry for one offs and one of a kinds. Like the Columbine Duck and a few others that have been forgotten.

That idea has been floating around my head for awhile. Could you make a list of aircraft you'd like to see in this registry? Type and serial # or n-number would be good. Once I have that I'll generate the initial files.

Scott, one possible quickie for you. I noticed in the Fiat G.59 registry the lack of of Jerry Yagen's MM53778, c#185 which reportedly is being converted to G.55, tho there is an oddity in registrations. The ex-Zuccoli G.59 formerly VH-LIX, now D-FIAT, MM3772, c#179 came out of Meier's restoration with NC185 painted on it rather than NC179. Might stand-by on some clarification from those folks? Like you got nuthin' else to do... :D Regardless of all that, MM53778 is not there and VH-LIX is now D-FIAT.
Thanks for all you do Scott!

A few that come to mind that are either one off's or sole survivors; Ryan FR-1 at Chino, Piper PT-1, Ryan XNQ , Beech YT-34 (was for sale in Nevada), Curtiss XF-15, YT-28E, Focke Wulf FW-189, Budd Conestoga (2), Northrop YC-125 Raider, Lockheed B-34 in Colorado, St. Louis Streetcar PT-15, Boeing YL-15, and there's another high wing larger Piper, L-15 (?) that's a sole survivor, The stainless steel trainer at Soplata's (FLeetwings?). Those types.

Scott, P-51 44-72086 is airworthy with the Warbird Heritage Foundation here in my hometown of Waukegan, Ill I do not know when they acquired it. Also, P-51 45-11518 was involved in a fatal crash on 10/3/16. The owner Maurice Hammond sustained major injuries but survived. I do not know the status of the aircraft at this time.

Scott, as long as you're updating Mustangs, you're welcome to use this shot from my collection of 44-72739 at Universal Studios, dated June 1965:

Credit to Otto Sauseng - I bought the slide from his estate.

Since you don't have a photo of 44-74978, here you go:

Sorry about the halftone screen. I was given this one way back in '83 or so from a gentleman doing copies at my shop; IIRC he had something to do with bringing this plane from Costa Rica to the U.S., so this image would be circa 1964.

Accidentally updated the P-47 Thunderbolt section...

Went to update Dottie Mae, ended up messing up some code and in order to unbreak i it had to update all the code. Luckily it's a small registry :)

Now on to updating some P-51 entries (thanks John and Chris) then Thursday I start on the B-17 Flying Fortress registry.

Thanks TJ, this one actually exists in the registry

As you can see there is some discrepency in the ID that I will have to look into further.
