Greenwood Lake Airshow

Mon Jun 12, 2017 11:39 am

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Greenwood Lake Airshow over the weekend. They put on a great show, but im a little torn between seeing the props turn on the MAAM B-25 and Avenger or spending a little more effort on getting some more static aircraft on the field. Personal opinion, the airport should paint the L-1049 on the field in a C-69 olive drab scheme.

Where is Greenwoood Lake?

IMHO: painting a 1049 as a C-69 would be weird if the aircraft has the longer nose seen on post-war Connies....to say nothing of the noticeably longer fuselage. It would be like painting a DC-6 or 7 as a wartime C-54.

If one wants a warbird scheme, how about a more correct C-121 scheme?
