This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

My oh my, haven't we been spoiled here as of late?
There's been a Hurricane, a Spitfire, an Il-2, a Mosquito, a Corsair, and a P-47 all making flights post restoration here in the past couple weeks. And we should have the SBD from Vulture's Row and Special K the B-26K making their maiden flights here shortly as well.
Am I missing any?

https://www.facebook.com/WarhawkMuseum/Yesterday at Caldwell Industrial Airport the P-47 Thunderbolt "Dottie Mae" flew it's first flight in 72 years after being recovered from a lake in Austria where it crashed and sank in 1945!
In the picture are Bob Nightingale (helped with the recovery), Jack (owner), Mike Breshear (restorer), and Johnny Maloney (test pilot).
It was a very exciting and long-awaited day!

Wow, who would have thought a few years ago that so many birds would once again take to the skies. These restorations are just so awesome. Can't wait to see what the future holds!
Kudos to all those who saved them, fixed them and keep them flying!

Thirded for the call for a warbird Stuka! Waiting and hoping one will appear FHC Shturmovik-style, with a sudden photo post from out of nowhere and immediate calls of "THAT'S PHOTOSHOPPED!"
